Statement of Faith

We believe

We believe that the canonical books of the Holy Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people. They are the supreme and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

We believe in one sovereign God, the Creator, infinitely perfect and existing eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the Holy Spirit’s task is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men and regenerate them, indwell and empower them for godly living and service.

We believe that Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit and God’s Word can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for salvation for all men. Those who repent and receive Jesus Christ our Lord by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church. Baptism is an act of the believer’s obedience to God, testifying to his faith in the risen Savior and symbolizing the death to sin and the resurrection to the newness of life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act whereby the Church expresses its unity with Christ, memorializing His sufferings and death.

We believe that the Church is composed of all those of all times and all peoples who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and the Head of the Church, and that every local church is under His leadership.

We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, who will return to take up the church and to judge the Living and the Dead.

We believe in the bodily resurrection from the dead, the everlasting blessedness and joy of the Saved, and the everlasting punishment of the Lost.

We believe in the necessity to fulfill the Great Commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 28.19-20).
